They’re saying one pass changed everything in that first-round playoff victory. One completion — no big deal, really, just a measly 15-yard bullet to Art Monk — that turned around Rypien, turned that game into a dominating 24-7 victory and sent Washington to the NFC semifinal against the 49ers at Candlestick Park today.

The voting panel debated for more than six and a half hours over the 17 finalists so worthy, none was considered a slam dunk.

Also eliminated were wide receivers Art Monk and Andre Reed, defensive ends Derrick Thomas and Richard Dent, guards Russ Grimm and Bob Kuechenberg, tackle Gary Zimmerman and linebacker Andre Tippett.
